In Affirmations by Napolill you choose whether your content stays on your device only or is also synced. This community article explains both options in plain language so you can decide consciously.

01When you are asked—and where to change it later

When you create an account, you are asked once whether you want to use sync.
Independently of that, you can change the same choice anytime in the app settings.

You stay in control: you are not locked in forever on first launch, and you can change your mind later.

02On-device only (no sync)

If you choose no sync:

Your data (e.g. recordings and related app content) live only on that one device.
There is no server sync—you cannot use or merge content across devices automatically.
If you uninstall the app or lose or reset the device, locally stored data is usually gone. There is no way to recover those recordings through the app if they were never backed up to the cloud.

This option can suit you if you want maximum data minimisation and deliberately skip multi-device convenience.

03Sync on: storage via Firebase in Europe

If you turn on sync, the relevant data is stored on Firebase servers. The service is configured for the Europe region—synced data is therefore hosted in the EU.

In practice that typically means:

You can use your content across devices when signed in with the same account.
Uninstalling the app on one device does not automatically delete all data if it was synced and your account still exists—details and exceptions are in the app texts and, where applicable, the privacy policy.

04Short summary
