Safety information

Important information for safe, responsible use of the Affirmations by Napolill app (audio, continuous loop, optional light pulse, account & sync).

  • Safe use
  • Wellbeing
  • Mental health

As of: 29 March 2026

01

1. General safety notes

The app UI is available in German, English, and Romanian, among other languages; these safety notes on the website are available in English and German (see date at the bottom of the page). They supplement the information shown when you first open the app and the epilepsy / light-triggered migraine confirmation in onboarding.

Important notice

Affirmations by Napolill is not a substitute for professional medical or psychological treatment. For serious mental or physical health issues, always consult a qualified physician or therapist.

Respect your limits

Listen to your body and intuition. If you feel uncomfortable, pause or stop using the app.

Take regular breaks

Take breaks between sessions. Excessive use can be counterproductive.

Realistic expectations

Change through practice takes time. Do not expect instant “miracle” results.

02

2. Audio & frequencies

Volume

Recommended level: about 30–50 % of your device’s maximum volume. Frequencies should sound pleasant and relaxing.

Avoid: Very high volumes can damage hearing. If frequencies feel unpleasant, lower the volume immediately.

Solfeggio frequencies

  • Do not use frequencies while driving or during activities that require full concentration
  • If you have epilepsy or neurological conditions: consult a doctor before use
  • If you are pregnant, consult your doctor before use
  • If you feel unwell, get headaches, or feel dizzy: stop use immediately
03

3. Light pulse & flash (visual stimuli)

In certain sessions, the app may offer an optional light pulse (e.g. rhythmic flash via the device torch). It is optional and only active when you turn it on, as described in the app and onboarding.

Do not use if …

  • you have epilepsy, light-triggered migraine, or other neurological conditions where repeated light or sound stimuli may cause problems (as confirmed in the app)
  • you are unsure – talk to your doctor first
  • Do not stare directly at the light; do not use the feature longer than feels comfortable
  • If you feel unwell, have severe headache, nausea, visual disturbances, or twitching: turn it off immediately and stop using the app
  • Place the device stably if needed and mind battery drain / heat

Audio (affirmations, optional Solfeggio backgrounds) can add stimulation – you can pause or quit the app at any time.

04

4. Sleep & continuous loop

The app offers a meditation mode with a fixed timer (typically 5, 10, 15, or 20 minutes, after which playback stops automatically) and a continuous loop for longer sessions or sleep. The loop can run for up to 9 hours in the app and then ends automatically – you can always stop manually.

Use long playback – especially overnight – responsibly:

Recommended use

  • Use a low volume (about 20–30 %)
  • Make sure the device is placed safely
  • For limited relaxation: use the meditation timer
  • Follow good sleep hygiene (dark room, comfortable temperature)

Precautions

  • If you have sleep disorders: consult a doctor before long overnight playback or continuous loop
  • Do not wear headphones overnight (risk of injury)
  • Make sure emergency alarms (fire, smoke) remain audible
  • The app does not treat sleep disorders
05

5. Emotional safety

Affirmations, optional mood check-ins, streaks, and focus exercises may trigger strong emotions or pressure to keep a “perfect” streak – remember that taking breaks is OK.

Intense emotions

It is normal for emotions to surface during use. If they become overwhelming:

  • Pause the session
  • Breathe deeply
  • Talk to someone you trust
  • If problems persist: seek professional help

Choose positive affirmations

Phrase affirmations in a positive, realistic way. Avoid self-deprecating wording. If unsure, use templates in the app or contact our support.

When to seek professional help:

  • Suicidal thoughts or self-harm urges
  • Severe depression or anxiety
  • Trauma reactions
  • Psychotic symptoms

6. Technical safety

Device security

  • Keep the app up to date (via the stores or in-app update prompts on Android)
  • Install the app only from official app stores (Google Play, Apple App Store)
  • If you use an account (email/password, Google, or Apple): use a strong password and protect device/store access; do not share credentials
  • Optional cloud sync: see safe use of Wi‑Fi and device lock in our privacy policy

Privacy

If you work only locally without an account or with sync off, content stays primarily on the device. With an account and sync enabled, data is synced to the cloud as described in the privacy policy. If you uninstall the app, on-device data may be removed depending on settings; with an active account, server copies may remain until you delete the account (see privacy policy / terms).
